Social Infrastructure Tech Registers Nine Additional Patents

Social Infratech announced that nine new patents recently passed the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) examination, bringing the total number of patents registered to 29. These patent registrations are recognition of the achievements of its blockchain technology development for data ownership and copyright verification, driven by the rapid increase in digital data and the convergence of AI and IoT technologies.

Social Infratech has been developing solutions that leverage blockchain technology to secure the integrity of digital data and enhance its reliability. In particular, one of the recently registered patents, "Data Ownership Verification and External Sharing Linkage System," is attracting attention for its ability to authenticate and record data ownership and copyright information in real time using an ultra-lightweight blockchain (personal blockchain) embedded in a smartphone. This technology is being evaluated as overcoming the limitations of existing blockchain technology by guaranteeing data integrity even when offline without a network connection.

Personal blockchains focus on addressing copyright infringement and the challenge of distinguishing between AI-generated and real-world data. Smartphone users can store data creation time and ownership information in an immutable manner. Furthermore, they can connect to external blockchains for authentication and NFT issuance, and data management can be done without additional fees, offering both efficiency and user convenience.

Based on this technology, Social Infratech has commercialized two applications: "MyChain" and "Factstamp." MyChain is a service that securely manages personal digital data and proves ownership, while Factstamp records the creation time of photos taken on a smartphone on the blockchain, verifying their authenticity and preventing forgery. Both applications are currently available on Android, with an iOS version scheduled for release in the first half of 2025.

“The registration of these nine patents and the launch of applications based on these technologies are examples of both technological innovation and tangible business results,” said Jeon Myeong-san, co-CEO of Social Infratech. “Through blockchain-based technology and applications, we will solve the problem of protecting digital data ownership and establish technological leadership in the global market.”
