The Ministry of SMEs and Startups opened a K-Startup integrated pavilion at the International Electronics Show 2025.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced on the 7th (local time) that it opened the 'K-Startup Integrated Pavilion' at the 'Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025', the world's largest technology exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will operate the 'K-Startup Integrated Hall' at CES 2025's Eureka Park (a hall exclusively for startups) for four days from the 7th to the 10th (local time), supporting the participation of excellent domestic startups in exhibitions and local business matching.

Operated in collaboration with 30 domestic startup support organizations, including public institutions, local governments, universities, and large corporations, this integrated exhibition hall is the largest in its history, featuring 127 startups showcasing innovative technologies and products. Compared to CES 2024, which featured 26 organizations and 91 startups, the number of participating organizations and companies has significantly expanded.

The opening ceremony of the 'K-Startup Integrated Hall' held on the morning of the 7th (local time) was attended by many distinguished guests, including Vice Minister Kim Sung-seop, who visited the site to encourage Korean small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies participating in CES, Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros S. Anthony, Acting President of the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development Choi Yeol-soo, Gyeongsangbuk-do Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Yang Geum-hee, and Sejong City Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Lee Seung-won.

In his opening remarks at the opening ceremony, Vice Minister Kim Seong-seop emphasized, “Korea’s startup ecosystem is world-class, with 125 venture and startup companies winning the CES Innovation Awards, which are drawing worldwide attention.” He added, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will continue to actively support innovative ‘K-startups’ so that they can use CES as a springboard to advance to the global stage.”

Vice Minister Kim also encouraged the companies participating in CES, saying, “CES is the starting point where our startups’ dreams and possibilities connect with the world, and the companies here are leaders who are opening up the future of Korean technology and the startup ecosystem on the global stage.”

At the awards ceremony held afterwards, the Startup Promotion Center, which has been operating the 'K-Startup Integrated Pavilion' at CES, received a commendation from the Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, who attended the opening ceremony, in recognition of its contribution to promoting exchanges between Korean startups and the United States.

During the CES 2025 exhibition period, the 'K-Startup Integrated Pavilion' will showcase innovative technologies and products from domestic startups, and will also run various stage programs such as 'K-Startup IR Pitching,' local VC seminars, and global startup summits.

Meanwhile, the CTA has announced 461 CES Innovation Awards across 34 categories to date, with 210 going to Korean companies. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for approximately 61.9% of the awards, with venture and startup companies taking home 125 awards.

In particular, three venture and start-up companies, including Sierra Base (smart city field), Ghostpass (fintech field), and Suprema AI (embedded technology field), won the Best of Innovation Award, which is given to one company in each field with the most innovative technology and product.

  • Sierra Base Co., Ltd.: SIRIUS, a commercial robot autonomous operation solution for inspecting and measuring facilities and buildings.
  • GhostPass: On-Device Biometric Authentication Payment Solution
  • Suprema AI: Q-Vision Pro, an on-device AI module that predicts and prevents financial crimes that may occur around standalone devices such as ATMs.

Among the companies that participated in the 'K-Startup Integrated Pavilion', a total of 12 companies* won 13 innovation awards. CEO Song-Hyeon Kim of Sierra Base, which won the Best Innovation Award in the Smart City category by participating in the 'K-Startup Integrated Pavilion', said in his acceptance speech, "Winning the CES 2025 Best Innovation Award is a recognition of our technological prowess and potential for expansion in the global market. We will expand our technology to the entire world, including North America and Europe, to realize sustainable infrastructure safety."
