CES 2025 Opens: AI and Sustainable Technologies Drive Industrial Innovation

CES® 2025 , the world's most powerful technology event, successfully opened on Tuesday, the 7th (local time). Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, CES is a venue where industry leaders and global brands present their visions in diverse fields, including game-changing AI, digital health, sustainable innovation, next-generation mobility, and quantum computing. CES 2025, which garnered enthusiastic attention from its pre-opening media day, will run in Las Vegas, USA, until Friday, the 10th.

CES kicked off with a State of the Industry address by CEO Shapiro and Chairman Fabrizio. In their speeches, the two speakers shared their vision, emphasizing the power of technology to empower individuals and drive future innovation. Shapiro stated, "While the big picture of how technology fuels economic growth and transforms industries is important, it's equally crucial to discuss how technology transforms our individual lives."

CTA also welcomed Executive Board members Deena Ghazarian, founder of Austere, and Debbie Taylor Moore, founder and CEO of Quantum Crunch, to the stage for presentations. CTA also announced a new partnership with Quantum World Congress and a new $5 million investment in CTA's Innovation for All Fund. Shapiro and Fabrizio also unveiled CTA's biannual Global Innovation Scorecard, highlighting countries with the political, economic, and demographic conditions that enable technological innovation to thrive.

◆ Key Technology Trends to Watch at CES 2025

Brian Comiskey, Senior Director, Innovation and Trends, CTA, and Melissa Harrison, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, presented the media event, "Tech Trends to Watch at CES 2025." The event provided a futuristic perspective on quantum computing, human security, energy transition, and key CES 2025 themes and exhibitors. CTA also presented its 2025 US Tech Industry Forecast at the event.

◆ Keynote speech

  • NVIDIA

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang shared his vision for the future on Monday, highlighting the company's progress in advancing consumer and business infrastructure with AI innovation. In his keynote, Huang introduced the GeForce RTX 50 series, which is expected to outperform the previous RTX 4090 model, and Agentic AI, a real-time AI assistant designed to improve consumer workflows. He also unveiled Cosmos, a cutting-edge generative World Foundation Model (WFM) designed to improve workflow efficiency, along with generative AI models designed to help robots better navigate the physical world. NVIDIA also announced a partnership with Toyota to develop next-generation autonomous vehicles powered by the safety-certified NVIDIA DriveOS.

  • Panasonic Holdings Corporation

Yuki Kusumi, CEO of Panasonic Holdings Group, shared the Panasonic Group's vision for sustainability, AI, and the health of future generations in his keynote address. The keynote, which began with a performance by renowned DJ Steve Aoki, featured Kusumi on stage alongside Marvel actor Anthony Mackie and Panasonic Group executives. Panasonic illustrated its journey to net zero through its 44 manufacturing facilities powered by 100% renewable energy and unveiled OASYS, an HVAC system that uses less energy than conventional systems. Wayne Usie, Chief Strategy Officer of Blue Yonder, joined Kusumi to reveal how companies can navigate supply chain complexity with predictive and generative AI. Panasonic announced Umi, its digital family wellness platform and coach, expanding the existing Panasonic Well portfolio.

◆ Media Day

CES Media Days took place at Mandalay Bay from January 5th to 6th, with 19 global brands making presentations and generating global media attention. This year, six CEOs from global companies participated in the press conference: Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, AMD, Bosch, HDMI, Hisense, Invo Station, John Deere, National Sleep Foundation, OnMed LLC, SHOKZ, Siemens, Sony, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, TCL, TomBot, Toyota, Variowell, and Zeekr.

CES Unveiled, the official press event for CES 2025, showcased innovations from more than 200 companies, including Kirin Holdings' Electric Salt Spoon, LiberLive's C1 Stringless Smart Guitar, FaceHeart's CardioMirror for heart health diagnosis, Tombot's Jennie pet robot, and the Xpeng Aeroht Land Aircraft Carrier, a modular transportation concept.
