The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced the 2025 Global Innovation Scorecard at CES® 2025 on the 7th (local time).
The scorecard, which assesses 74 countries and the European Union across 16 categories and 56 indicators, measures the political, economic, and demographic factors that promote innovation and provides a comprehensive analysis.
This year, 25 countries, including Korea (ranked 18th), were selected as 'Innovation Champions', and representatives from Estonia, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden took the stage at CES for the State of the Industry keynote speech and received their awards.
The Consumer Technology Association's (CTA) Global Innovation Scorecard, published every two years, evaluates countries where governments exert influence over public policy, independent, verifiable third-party data exists, and comparable public data exists across countries.
◆ Innovation Champions
The scorecard's highest rating, Innovation Champion, is awarded to countries with diverse and skilled workforces, fast broadband networks, startup-friendly environments, and openness to emerging technologies such as Web 3.0 technologies, autonomous driving, and blockchain.

“Technology is a key enabler for solving global challenges such as healthcare access, mobility, energy, and sustainability,” said Gary Shapiro, CEO and Vice Chair of CTA. “The Innovation Champions demonstrate the innovative power of governments and industries to improve lives around the world. We look forward to continuing to see global leaders learn from each other and fully leverage the benefits of technology.”
