Alsquare announced on the 8th that it has signed a construction site waste disposal contract with 'Jiguhada', a subsidiary of Cheonil Energy, and will begin full-scale efforts to strengthen ESG management.
Under this agreement, Jiguhada will be responsible for the collection and disposal of all waste generated at Alsquare. In particular, processing costs are expected to be reduced by approximately 5% compared to previous years, resulting in annual cost savings of tens of millions of won.
Alsquare was the first Korean proptech company to join the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). It also serves on the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) ESG Committee and holds international certification for its Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001). Recently, the company has been actively involved in fostering an ESG ecosystem, including by providing occupational health and safety mindset training to CEOs of partner companies.
Jeong Sang-min, head of the Safety and Health Management Office at Alsquare, said, “This contract is not limited to simple waste disposal, but is part of our ESG management practices with our partners,” adding, “We will continue to build a sustainable real estate ecosystem by establishing a safety and health system and strengthening environmental management.”
Starting in February 2025, a dedicated app for Alsquare will be introduced, allowing users to check the status of waste disposal in real time. Earth's waste disposal system will be a one-stop system from collection to final disposal, and the entire process will be transparently managed through a digital platform.
Park Sang-won, CEO of Cheonil Energy, said, “Transparency in the waste disposal market is a challenge of our time,” and added, “As a cutting-edge industry that aligns with keywords such as RE100 and ESG, we will work with Alsquare to realize eco-friendly values.”
