East Movement Secures Seed Investment from MY Social Company

East Movement Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Jun-gyu, hereinafter referred to as East Movement) announced that it has attracted seed investment from MY Social Company (MYSC) .

Founded in December 2022, East Movement is the second company founded by CEO Park Jun-gyu, who operates Surf Beach, a famous tourist attraction in Yangyang, Gangwon-do.

East Movement plans and operates programs that allow guests to enjoy daily leisure activities on the beach, focusing on beach yoga. They offer guests a positive healing experience immersed in nature. Next year, they are planning a beach running program in addition to beach yoga, and they aim to establish themselves as a pioneer in the growing wellness tourism industry. Furthermore, CEO Park Jun-gyu leverages his expertise from running Surfy Beach to collaborate with local governments and various local creators to provide integrated experiences across accommodations, food, and activities, contributing to the economic revitalization of the Yangyang region.

CEO Park Jun-gyu has promoted Jukdo Beach as a beach where people can enjoy themselves until late at night, using the keyword "festival" through Surf Beach. Through East Movement, he plans to expand the beach to a year-round experience, combining it with the wellness tourism industry and "healing," further revitalizing Yangyang's local ecosystem. Building on his experience in revitalizing Yangyang, he plans to expand to coastal regions like the West Sea and South Sea, further revitalizing underserved areas beyond Yangyang.

With this investment, East Movement plans to develop diverse local experience programs centered around six surfing beaches in the Yangyang area and grow into a leading wellness tourism company in Korea. An official from MY Social Company, which reviewed and executed the investment, stated, "Based on our equity investment in MYSC and linked to a private investment matching loan (LIPS), we have secured approximately 500 million won in operating funds. Through East Movement, we hope to attract more people to discover and experience the value of local culture, thereby growing alongside the region."

Park Jun-gyu, CEO of East Movement, expressed his determination, saying, “20 days of travel time out of 365 days is business time for local startups. We want to bring leisure activities such as yoga, health, and running to the sea and become the cornerstone for more local startups. We will also work with local travel industry suppliers to create new added value and make local businesses more valuable.”
