ZeroOne, which operates food waste circular economy solutions ‘SSLMO’ and ‘DAMBI’, announced on the 7th that it was finally selected for ‘TIPS’, a technology startup support program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
TIPS is a program that fosters promising startups in partnership with private investors and the government. The program operates on a structure where private investors identify and invest, with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups providing R&D funding. ZeroOne received a recommendation from Bluepoint Partners and received 500 million won in R&D funding over two years.
ZeroOne provides services that prevent food waste spoilage and reduce disposal costs through "Sseulmo" and "Dambi." "Sseulmo" is a consignment processing service based on a reduction center, while "Dambi" is a high-speed food waste reduction machine. These innovative technologies infuse waste with new value. Specifically, these technologies dry rapidly-perishable food waste, increasing its value as a recyclable material. Furthermore, by reducing transport distances after drying, they are expected to reduce carbon emissions.
“We are opening an era where we can transform discarded resources into new opportunities,” said Cho Se-won, CEO of Zero One. “Through this TIPS research and development project, we will further develop our initial food waste drying technology and secure technology optimized for faster, mass drying.”
