KOC establishes the "KOC Consulting Cooperative" to support promising startups' leap to unicorn status.

KAIST One Club (KOC, Chairman Jae-Joong Kwon), a KAIST alumni startup ecosystem group, announced on the 6th that it has established the KOC Consulting Cooperative to systematically support the growth of promising technology-based startups into unicorns.

The KO Consulting Cooperative, comprised of KOC members, operates the AI Matching Center as its control tower. Centered around this center, it provides consulting services through six specialized committees: investment and financing, business planning, operational innovation, organizational and human resources, management support, and open innovation.

The KOC Consulting Cooperative breaks away from traditional consulting methods and adopts a flexible and practical approach tailored to the unique needs of startups. Unlike traditional consulting firms that focus on short-term, solution-oriented contracts, the KOC Consulting Cooperative addresses the specific needs of startups through a variety of customized services, including collaborative projects, coaching, mentoring, and training. Furthermore, even after the consulting project is completed, the cooperative supports startups' continued growth through follow-up support, including investment attraction, talent networking, and global expansion.

Participating consultants are comprised of successful entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals who are all KAIST alumni, and their ages range from young to senior. This synergy allows the innovative thinking of the younger generation to be combined with the extensive experience of the senior group, effectively supporting startup growth. Furthermore, by actively leveraging the capabilities of retired professionals, the program is expected to contribute to enhancing social value through "leveraging experience resources," a recent social agenda.

Going forward, KOC plans to actively utilize its network and accumulated expertise as the nation's leading innovation and startup ecosystem to operate the KOC Consulting Cooperative, thereby enabling client companies to go beyond simply receiving consulting services and systematically build a foundation for becoming unicorns.

KOC Chairman Kwon Jae-joong said, “Through the establishment of the KOC Consulting Cooperative, we will first provide consulting services to cooperative member companies and KOC member companies, and in the future, we plan to expand the scope to include promising startups outside of KOC.” He added, “Through this, we will greatly contribute to the fostering of unicorns among promising companies and the qualitative growth of the innovative startup ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, KOC is actively discovering and investing in promising technology companies through KOC Partners, an accelerator funded by KOC members.
