Inshots announced on the 6th that it signed a strategic business partnership (MOU) with Megabox to provide ultra-high-quality content utilizing its 'AI Superscaler' solution.
Through this agreement, Inshots will collaborate on the procurement of content for Megabox theaters and provide 4K repackaging services for upcoming content. Specifically, Inshots will supply 4K superscaled content to Megabox, which has a large number of 4K theaters, and will work closely with them to develop related businesses.
Founded in February 2023, Inshots is a computer vision AI startup that provides various AI-based solutions specialized for the content industry. Representative solutions include Korea's first AI digital indirect advertising (PPL) solution, AI Motion Traveler, and "AI Superscaler," an AI-based video quality enhancement solution. Specifically, "AI Superscaler" utilizes AI repackaging technology, which enhances the original video quality to a premium level by applying specialized data and learning methods for 4K video. This technology is continuously being improved upon based on the world's best-on-the-tank (SOTA) model officially announced at CVPR, the world's leading computer vision conference, in June 2023.
Through this collaboration, Inshots plans to expand its collaboration with domestic and international companies, including Megabox. It has already signed technology supply agreements with the Korean Animation Association and China's Alpha Group, and is conducting proof-of-concept (POC) technology tests with broadcasting and content companies in Japan and China. The "AI Superscaler" boasts superior performance, differentiated from existing upscale models released to the market through technological advancements and research verification in the field of video super-resolution, and is considered applicable to a wide range of fields.

Kim Bong-jae, head of Megabox Multiplex Headquarters, said, “Through this strategic agreement, we will be able to secure competitive content in the form of re-released and remastered works,” and added, “4K repackaged content will not be limited to simply screening re-released works, but will be a new attempt by the industry to reaffirm the value of theaters.”
