
Impact Station announced on the 3rd that it had completed the "2024 ARKO Culture and Arts Professional Course Blended Education" program, hosted by the Arts Council Korea, which ran from June to December. This program, a customized training program designed to support career development for cultural administration and planning professionals, was operated in a blended format, combining online courses with offline, on-site training.
The training course was divided into the "Culture and Arts Administrator Course," aimed at current and prospective employees of public cultural institutions and foundations, and the "Culture and Arts Planner Workshop," designed for emerging cultural planners. The "Culture and Arts Administrator Course" offered a variety of lectures and field trips, with participants divided into three categories: prospective, beginner, and experienced. The "Starting Course," for prospective participants, featured lecturers such as Kang Seung-jin, Director of the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation, and Kim Hae-bo, a specialist at the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. Field trips were also organized by the Arts Council Korea. The "Becoming Course," for those with three years or less of service, featured lecturers such as Kang Won-jae, Chairman of the Nowon Cultural Foundation, and Lee Gyu-seok, Director of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation. The program included mentoring sessions and discussions with artists. The "Ongoing Course," designed for those with four to seven years of service, featured lecturers such as Jo Jeong-yoon, Director of the Busan Cultural Foundation, and Park Jong-dal, former Head of the Policy Coordination Team at Uijeongbu City. The program included a planned picnic and other programs.
Furthermore, the "Culture and Arts Planner Workshop" was divided into a "Case Study," focusing on case studies, and a "CoP" program, which focused on collaborative project planning. Key lecturers included musical "Laundry" director Chu Min-ju, Yeungnam University Professor Yoo Won-jun, and Gwangju Museum of Art Director Kim Jun-ki. Mentors for collaborative projects included Park Do-bin, former CEO of Dongneunghyungdeul, and Kim Hye-yeon, CEO of Yeonist.
Additionally, a course titled "Understanding ESG Management and Strategy Development" was offered for those working in institutional management planning, and lectures on evaluation, management, and organizational diagnosis of cultural and arts institutions were also held. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Local Government Human Resources Development Institute, a "5th Grade Promotion Leader Course: Culture and Arts Day" was held for those promoted to Grade 5 local government officials.
Impact Station CEO Song Sang-hoon stated, “In a reality where it is difficult to provide the information necessary to enter and grow in the cultural administration and planning fields, this training was conducted in a hybrid online-offline format reflecting industry trends. We will continue to strive to cultivate talent that will have a positive impact on the cultural field in the future.”
