Haeju holds 'Jeju Bidding System Discussion Meeting'

Haezoom announced on the 2nd that it held a "Jeju Bidding System Seminar" for Jeju power generation companies to increase understanding of the renewable energy bidding system and share the current status. The meeting was a great success, with Haezoom providing participants with useful information about the bidding system and strengthening communication with power generation companies.

At the meeting, Haejum explained the characteristics of the domestic electricity market and the background and current status of the renewable energy bidding system. A Q&A session on the bidding system was held to enhance understanding among power generation operators. Furthermore, Haejum demonstrated its integrated operation platform, "Haejum V," shared the operational results of the bidding system, and presented the current status and strategy for virtual power plant (VPP) operations.

Solar power plant operators who attended the meeting evaluated that the information on the bidding system provided by Haejum helped them gain a deeper understanding of the Jeju bidding system, and expressed satisfaction that Haejum's technology has made the complex bidding system easier to operate and enabled efficient participation in the electricity market.

Haejum, a company focused on VPP (Voluntary Power Plant) as its core business, offers differentiated services through patented, precise solar power generation forecasting technology, output control prediction and real-time notifications, and bidding optimization technology. As Korea's first power brokerage, it operates an office in Jeju and has a system in place to respond to the bidding system. It plans to strengthen its technological capabilities by registering 15 new patents related to VPP technology by 2024. These technologies will be integrated into the Haejum V platform, providing solutions optimized for bidding.

Currently, a renewable energy bidding system is being piloted in Jeju, and a renewable energy power generation forecasting system is also in operation on the mainland. However, as the bidding system is expected to expand to the mainland, onshore power generation operators need to prepare for this change.

Haejum CEO Kwon Oh-hyun said, “There have been concerns and anxieties among power generation companies since the Jeju pilot project began, but through this meeting, we were able to resolve their questions and provide transparent information.” He added, “In particular, power plants that participated in Haejum and the prediction system were able to secure higher prediction accuracy and competitiveness in the bidding system by analyzing data in advance.”
