HiCareNet (CEO Won Jong-yoon and Kim Hong-jin), a subsidiary of Insung Information and a digital healthcare company, announced on the 2nd that it has launched a project to develop an AI-based remote monitoring service for respiratory diseases. This project is part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Industrial Technology International Cooperation Project, in which HiCareNet is participating, and will be promoted through a global consortium until September 2027.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Industrial Technology International Cooperation Project is a multilateral, jointly funded R&D program featuring international joint research and development with leading overseas R&D institutions.
The Korean goal of this project is to develop an AI-based intelligent integrated monitoring system capable of analyzing respiratory health status and risk of progression to severe disease based on biometric and acoustic data. To achieve this, biometric data, activity data, acoustic data, and symptom protocol response data will be comprehensively utilized to monitor health status in real time, and seamless healthcare services will be established based on 5G technology.
In particular, we plan to present standards for a global healthcare platform through collaboration with multinational research institutes in countries such as Korea, the UK, and Turkey.
The AI-based intelligent integrated monitoring system collects and analyzes patients' daily health data, including vital signs and voice data, via a gateway, supporting the diagnosis of respiratory diseases and predicting their severity in real time. This enables the establishment of an effective respiratory infection management system and the provision of preventive healthcare services.
HiCareNet is currently operating remote patient monitoring (RPM) and chronic disease management (CCM) projects for patients with chronic diseases in the United States. With this AI respiratory diagnostic support medical device, HiCareNet plans to further expand its US operations and diversify its revenue streams by adding respiratory disease monitoring services to its existing platform.
“This project represents the evolution of healthcare services utilizing AI and patient data,” said Kim Hong-jin, CEO of HiCareNet. “Through global collaboration, we will build an innovative remote monitoring system and expand sustainable healthcare services in global markets, including the U.S.”
