Jeju Free International City Development Center (Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu, JDC) announced on the 24th that it was selected as an excellent resource circulation practice organization at the '2025 ESG Resource Circulation Awards' hosted by E-Circular Governance and received the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Award.
This award recognizes JDC's contributions to the collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic products through its "Green Return with JDC" campaign, which ran from September 4th to the end of October. The campaign, held in conjunction with E-Circulation Governance on September 6th, commemorated "Resource Recycling Day," and involved both company employees and the local community.
The campaign was conducted in two rounds. In the first round, employees discarded various electronic products, including washing machines, dishwashers, air fryers, and auxiliary batteries. In the second round, local residents and employees of the tenant companies participated, sharing the importance and value of resource recycling.
A total of 17,743 kg (approximately 17.74 tons) of waste electrical and electronic products were recovered and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner through e-circulation governance. This achievement was recognized as a best practice and led to the Minister's Award.
JDC Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu said, “This award is the result of the resource recycling practices that our employees and the local community participated in,” and added, “As a public institution, JDC will continue to spread the culture of resource recycling and practice sustainable ESG management.”
JDC plans to continue to pursue ESG management that simultaneously creates environmental and social value through resource recycling campaigns and community-based activities.
