Startup Alliance appoints former Ministry of SMEs and Startups Director Lim Jeong-wook as new co-CEO.

Startup Alliance announced the appointment of Lim Jeong-wook, former Director of the Startup and Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as its new co-CEO. Lim will take office on January 2, 2026, and will co-lead the organization alongside Lee Ki-dae.

Lim Jeong-wook, the newly appointed Co-CEO, served as the inaugural Center Director of the Startup Alliance for seven years, beginning in 2013, contributing to the development and revitalization of the domestic startup ecosystem. Since then, he has worked in diverse fields, including media, global internet companies, venture capital, and government agencies, accumulating extensive experience in entrepreneurship and innovation policy. Furthermore, his experience working within the innovation ecosystems of the US and Japan has earned him a reputation for possessing a global perspective.

With the appointment of these co-CEOs, Startup Alliance plans to expand its global startup network and further strengthen its role as a think tank analyzing startup policies and industry trends. By serving as a bridge between the private and public sectors, domestically and internationally, the alliance aims to enhance the competitiveness of the entire startup ecosystem.

In his inaugural remarks, new co-CEO Lim Jeong-wook stated that Startup Alliance has played a role in the development of the Korean startup ecosystem for the past 10 years, and that he will contribute to the domestic startup ecosystem taking a leap forward based on his experience in the venture capital industry and the government.
