IL Conus, an affiliate of IL, announced on the 29th that it held a special shareholders' meeting and approved a motion to change its name to 'IL Robotics'.
This mission change is more than a simple name change. It's a strategic decision aimed at strengthening future industrial competitiveness by expanding the company's existing wireless sensor-based IoT expertise into robotics and physical AI. Through this, the company plans to secure new growth engines centered on next-generation robotics technology.
This decision by IL Robotics is interpreted as part of the company's efforts to commercialize the results of its recent collaboration with a global robotics company. IL Robotics previously signed a strategic partnership and business license agreement in Korea with Company A, a global top-tier robotics company possessing next-generation robotics technology.
Building on this global network, iL Robotics plans to introduce an integrated robotics solution that combines world-class robotics hardware with proprietary AI software. Specifically, based on the recently unveiled mass-produced model, iL Robotics aims to expand the distribution of Korean-made robots suited to the domestic logistics and manufacturing environment, thereby addressing labor shortages and improving productivity in industrial settings.
The company's core goal is to implement physical AI capable of autonomous perception, judgment, and action in physical environments. To achieve this, iL Robotics plans to apply its accumulated wireless sensor-based IoT technology to the robot's sensing and control systems to enhance cognitive capabilities. This is expected to serve as the foundation for autonomous driving and enhanced efficiency in complex work environments and high-difficulty tasks.
Meanwhile, iEL Robotics relocated its headquarters to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in the second half of this year and is participating in the creation of a regional advanced industrial ecosystem. Last November, it was listed on the Korea Exchange (KONEX) market, demonstrating the company's growth potential and transparency to the market.
“This change of name is a declaration of a new leap forward to innovate domestic industrial sites with robotics technology,” said Ji-Seok Lee, CEO of iL Robotics. “We will focus our capabilities on presenting competitive standards in the field of physical AI based on technological cooperation with global partners.”
