Ellis Group Completes 2025 AI Semiconductor Application Demonstration Support Project

Ellis Group (CEO Jae-won Kim), an AI full-stack company that provides AI infrastructure, cloud, and industry-specific solutions, announced that it has successfully completed the '2025 AI Semiconductor Application Demonstration Support Project.'

This demonstration demonstrates how Ellis Group optimized domestically produced AI semiconductors (NPUs) and applied them to education-specific generative AI services for large-scale verification. This demonstrated the effectiveness of domestically produced NPU-based AI application services in the education sector and accumulated expertise in NPU optimization and operation. This project was supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).

Based on a domestically produced NPU prototype, the Ellis Group built an NPU farm and cloud infrastructure and implemented an AI agent for textbook information verification and educational question-and-answering. Performance verification results from an accredited testing agency showed that the AI application model exceeded its targets in all evaluation criteria.

The AI agent applied in the demonstration has enhanced accuracy, reliability, and safety. Based on a large-scale Korean-specific dataset, the following features were implemented: a Fact Checker to verify textbook facts, a Relevance Checker to block questions unrelated to the textbook context or malicious questions, and a Tone Changer to transform answers into a learner-friendly style.

This project is noteworthy in that a single company oversaw the entire process, from building AI semiconductor infrastructure to training AI models and implementing specialized education services. Based on its own AI data center, "Ellis AI PMDC," Ellis Group configured NPU servers and a cloud environment, integrated AI model and service operations, and accumulated operational expertise in performance optimization, resource allocation, and service stabilization for domestically produced NPU-based systems.

Kim Jae-won, CEO of Ellis Group, said, “We have confirmed that educational generative AI agents can secure sufficient performance and reliability even in a domestic NPU-based environment.” He added, “In the future, we will implement the entire cycle from AI semiconductor infrastructure to AI application services with our own technology, and contribute to the expansion of the domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem and industrial application.”
