Humax Mobility Signs Business Agreement with Futurelink and Konatus

Comprehensive mobility platform company Humax Mobility , autonomous driving specialist Futurelink, and taxi-hailing platform operator Konatus have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to introduce and advance robotaxi services.

Under this agreement, the three companies will gradually expand their robotaxi services, focusing on major cities across the country, and jointly pursue a common service model in collaboration with local governments and public institutions. Furthermore, they plan to discover win-win business models that coexist with the existing transportation industry and share operational data and market intelligence to enhance their business competitiveness.

Areas of cooperation include the introduction and phased expansion of robotaxi services, sharing business development, operation, and management expertise, developing autonomous driving technology and a taxi-hailing platform, researching dispatch systems and algorithm optimization, and jointly utilizing parking lots and charging infrastructure. Synergies are also expected through leveraging each company's marketing and brand assets.

Futurelink recently demonstrated its technological prowess by achieving 40,000 kilometers of accident-free driving in Level 4 autonomous driving in the Gangnam area. By applying a hybrid learning approach that combines domestic road data with technology from Pony AI, a global leader, Futurelink has successfully localized autonomous driving technology for Korea. The company is currently accumulating in-depth data with ten vehicles under temporary operating permits.

The three companies will combine their respective expertise to jointly respond to business expansion, and plan to accelerate the commercialization of domestic robotaxis based on Humax Mobility's infrastructure and maintenance network, Konatus' platform operation know-how, and Futurelink's autonomous driving technology.
