The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Monday the 5th that it has established an “AI Transformation (AX) Strategy” to innovate public services and improve work efficiency based on artificial intelligence (AI), and has prepared a five-year roadmap to implement it.
This strategy, in line with the government's AI transformation policy direction, further enhances the existing digital and data-centered transformation strategy. Starting in 2026, it will focus on expanding the scope of application beyond internal work efficiency to encompass overall management and services for customers and the public.
Through this strategy, Kibo plans to internalize AI utilization capabilities throughout the organization and establish a data-driven intelligent decision-making system, thereby presenting an AX innovation model for public institutions.
To achieve this, Kibo established a company-wide AX governance system encompassing all areas, including organization, security, risk, and performance management, and developed a phased roadmap for securing AI infrastructure. Furthermore, Kibo enhanced the strategy's executable power and completeness by gathering extensive internal and external feedback and analyzing Kibo's entire value chain to develop AX implementation tasks.
In particular, we plan to select pilot projects with high potential for business application, such as customized product recommendations using customer information and legal assistants based on debt management regulations, to verify their effectiveness and enhance internal members' commitment to implementation.
In addition, KIBO plans to actively foster an AI ecosystem where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the general public can participate, including strengthening customized financial support and consulting for AX-related companies and conducting education and promotional projects for the digitally underprivileged.
“This strategy is a blueprint for Kibo’s management strategy to go beyond simply improving work efficiency and establish a foundation for a systematic transition to artificial intelligence, and to grow together with small and medium-sized enterprises and the public,” said Park Joo-sun, Executive Director and Chief AI Officer (CAIO) of Kibo. “As a public institution, Kibo will continue to do its best to lead the transition to artificial intelligence and increase public convenience.”
