– Blockchain technology permanently preserves information about the creation time, original data, and creators, preventing forgery and falsification.
Technology that permanently proves who created something first… "We're taking steps to protect creators' rights."
"While the law follows, technology must protect first." The goal is to build a fair AI creator ecosystem.
![]() AI creative tech company Daven AI (CEO Woo-Kyun Jeong) is officially launching the 'AI Character Authorship Proof' service, which permanently records the creative history of AI-created characters on the blockchain.
As the spread of generative AI has led to a surge in disputes over who is the true creator, the goal is to technically prevent unauthorized use and provide a practical "digital shield" to AI creators who are currently outside of legal protection.
Beyond simple "generation," DavenAI focused on the value of the creator's "selection," "revision," and "editing." Under current Korean law, works solely created by AI are difficult to copyright. However, copyright law is changing in countries like the US, allowing for editing and retouching that reflect the creator's intent, as well as the prompting, selection, and editing processes necessary to achieve the desired result, to be recognized as "human creative intervention."
DavenAI's proof-of-authorship technology records the original data and creation time of created characters and content on a blockchain network. This provides tamper-proof proof that the content existed at a specific point in time and that a specific person created it.
This technology focuses on "proof of existence" of a digital original, rather than "legal copyright acquisition." The most crucial issue in legal disputes is proving who created something first.
DavenAI offers a powerful "original author verification" feature that can be recognized in court. The adoption of blockchain, rather than a standard server, stems from "data sovereignty" and "persistence." Data stored on a central server is at risk of disappearing when the service is terminated or being manipulated by administrators.
On the other hand, blockchain technology permanently preserves records on the network even if the company ceases to exist. This is a technological decision designed to return true data ownership to users, ensuring that creators' rights are not tied to the existence of a specific platform.
The Daven AI development team has proposed numerous improvements to the Ethereum blockchain, many of which have been adopted as official protocols by the Ethereum Foundation. The proposed protocols are currently integrated into the Ethereum protocol and are in operation.
Additionally, the company possesses various blockchain-related technologies, including the world's first project to receive technology application approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for a mainnet and application service for real-world digital assetization (RWA).
Furthermore, DavenAI provides a feature that allows users to continuously produce creative works within the DavenAI platform by applying various generative AI models, such as those from Google and OpenAI, to characters registered with copyright certification. This allows all creations to be recorded as results associated with the copyright certification registration data, and all creations are linked and utilized for future copyright protection.
Beyond simple prompting, it incorporates human creative contributions through its own "editing tool," allowing users to directly compose cuts and add dialogue, thereby technically supporting the legal protection of derivative works. The idea is that while the law catches up with technology, technology will first protect creators.
Daebun AI CEO Woo-Kyun Jeong explained the background of the service development, saying, “While the current law is in a transitional stage regarding whether or not to recognize copyright for AI-only creations, ‘no rights’ does not necessarily mean ‘no need for protection.’”
CEO Jeong said, “In the past, artists had to go through complicated procedures to protect their works, but in the AI era, technology should remove that barrier,” and explained, “Under the philosophy that technology should flow to the lowest level, the core of this service is to provide a basis for ordinary creators without specialized knowledge to assert their rights with a single click.”
Regarding concerns raised by some quarters about a threat to the existing artist ecosystem, DavenAI proposed a solution called "Responsible Creation." DavenAI explained, "Authorization is a mechanism to prevent unauthorized creation hidden behind anonymity and hold creators accountable for their work in their own name."
By elevating AI creations from the shadows to the light and ensuring that only content with transparent sources is distributed, it is expected to contribute to the creation of a healthy ecosystem that respects and protects the originality of human artists.
Starting with this copyright verification feature, DavenAI plans to add various copyright protection technologies in the future, including content, scenario, and dialogue copyright registration and plagiarism monitoring. Furthermore, it plans to expand its "fair creator ecosystem" by enabling creators to generate tangible revenue through products utilizing registered character IP, licensing transactions, and other means.
