Doohands (CEO Park Chan-jae), which operates the fulfillment service Poomgo, announced on the 9th that it will maintain its delivery fee unit price at the current level through 2026 to ease the burden on customers despite the ongoing upward trend in logistics costs. Accordingly, Poomgo will maintain its delivery fee freeze for the fourth consecutive year, starting in 2023.
The recent combination of supply chain instability and high interest rates has put upward pressure on logistics costs across the board. Instead of reflecting these increased costs in delivery fees, Doohands has been leveraging its proprietary AI-based operational system to drive internal efficiency.
The AI ensemble model currently in operation at Poomgo predicts daily order volume, freight volume, and volume. It currently boasts a prediction accuracy of approximately 85%. By linking product-specific CBM data from order receipt to packaging completion, it calculates the expected load volume within the fulfillment center, supporting dispatch planning and operational optimization. This reduces unnecessary empty truck operations, improves labor efficiency, and ultimately reduces internal costs.
Poomgo uses this model to forecast up to three days' worth of freight volume in its dispatch plans and has established a data feedback system that continuously learns the discrepancy between dispatch plans and actual operations. The company expects this will help it increase forecast accuracy to 95% this year. Furthermore, cost efficiency has been enhanced through trunk operation and route management linked to shipment volumes from 14 fulfillment centers nationwide.
Doohands Poomgo provides integrated logistics services for e-commerce sellers, encompassing the entire process from warehousing and storage to shipping and delivery. Leveraging its proprietary logistics operation system and data-driven management capabilities, Doohands ensures shipment accuracy and delivery stability. It is an official partner of the Naver Fulfillment Alliance and the Qoo10 Japan eBay Fulfillment Alliance.
CEO Park Chan-jae stated, “Amidst the expected economic slowdown, the operational burden on brand companies is increasing,” and added, “We will strive to continue sustainable growth together with our customers by freezing delivery fees.”
