KH Vatech announced that it has signed a supply contract with domestic robot specialist Rainbow Robotics for 53 types of collaborative robot outer case parts.
The parts supplied through this contract will be applied to all eight models in Rainbow Robotics' collaborative robot lineup, the RB Series. This is seen as a tangible example of KH Vatech's strategy to expand its robot parts business.
This order, which follows a previously concluded contract to supply collaborative robot case components, is interpreted as a reflection of KH Vatech's ongoing sales efforts and technological competitiveness in the robotics industry. Through this contract, KH Vatech strengthens its partnership with Rainbow Robotics and secures a stable supply base for its robot parts business.
KH Vatech has identified the robot parts business as a key growth area for its mid- to long-term growth. It is applying the high-precision metalworking technology, mass production capabilities, and quality control systems it has accumulated through its smartphone and automotive parts businesses to the robotics industry. Building on this foundation, the company is expanding its business beyond external components into the realm of robot actuators.
The company is pursuing strategic collaborations and investments with related companies to develop robot actuator components. It is also developing components for robot joints, which require precision control and high output. Furthermore, the company is considering expanding beyond parts supply to include assembly, and plans to expand its application to various types of robots, starting with collaborative robots.
Following its smartphone and automobile parts businesses, KH Vatech plans to foster its robot parts business as a next-generation growth engine and expand its business to encompass the entire robotics industry.
