Ageland expands its contract to develop the Primemas CXL controller to 9.5 billion won.

ASIC design solutions company Aegic Land (CEO Jongmin Lee) announced on the 12th that the contract for the development of the next-generation chiplet SoC 'Falcon-1' with chiplet-based SoC platform developer Primemas has expanded to a total of 9.5 billion won.

This contract extension is a result of the extension of the contract period to ensure technical specifications are improved and complete during the project's progress, demonstrating that the cooperation between the two companies has entered a more stable phase than initially planned.

Falcon-1 is the core chipset of Primemas' chiplet-based SoC platform, 'Hublet®'. Equipped with CXL 3.2 and a chiplet interface, it serves as a next-generation memory and computation hub that can support ultra-large memory in AI data center servers or cost-effectively implement various hardware accelerators. In addition, it integrates various input/output ports and security functions to implement the high-performance and high-flexibility architecture required in server and edge environments, and the Arm Cortex-A55-based control processor secures power efficiency and system stability.

For this project, Aegic Land is responsible for key design services, including backend design, verification (DFT), tape-out, and wafer processing. The company is also leveraging TSMC's 12nm FinFET process to enhance the development of high-performance, low-power SoCs. A company representative explained, "This contract extension is not simply a contract extension; it's a measure to meet the customer's technical requirements for completeness." The company added, "The project has moved beyond the initial development phase and entered the stabilization and advancement phase."

Primemas has recently been expanding its collaboration with global memory companies and hyperscalers, and the Falcon-1 is a central product of this strategy. With this expanded agreement, Aegicland plans to strengthen its references in high-value-added markets such as data centers, AI, and edge computing, and expand its customized chiplet-based SoC design business.

“This contract expansion signals that the CXL and chiplet-based SoC ecosystem has entered a full-fledged growth phase,” said Jongmin Lee, CEO of Aegic Land. “We will further solidify our position as a high-performance semiconductor design partner through collaboration with global customers.”
