EDB Signs Strategic Partnership with Neoclova

EDB (CEO Hee-bae Kim), a global open-source PostgreSQL-based data and AI platform company, has signed a strategic partnership with Neoclova Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Jae-jung Lee and Gyu-seong Kim), a domestic open-source technology company, and is moving to expand its business in Korea.

This collaboration goes beyond a simple reseller agreement and aims to build an EDB ecosystem that will grow with diverse partners in the Korean cloud and database market. EDB has selected Neoclova, with its comprehensive open source maintenance and consulting capabilities, as a key partner.

Neoclova provides maintenance and consulting services for open source technologies, including Linux, web, WAS, and DBMS. Approximately 78% of its workforce consists of technical experts. Through this collaboration, Neoclova plans to support domestic companies' database modernization efforts by combining EDB's enterprise-grade PostgreSQL solution with its own technical expertise.

Neoclova has established three strategies: strengthening its know-how base, differentiating its services, and providing migration consulting. Through customized information provision, disseminating the latest EDB lineup, operating a technical blog, and implementing the "Community 360" model, it aims to transition open source community users to enterprise services. It also supports short-term database migrations with its "1-Day Migration Consulting" service. This approach allows customers to minimize development effort while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

Neoclova has secured over 167 major corporations and public institutions as its clients, and plans to focus on converting existing legacy databases such as Oracle to EDB in the financial, enterprise, and public sectors.

“Success in the Korean market depends on building a collaborative ecosystem with partners with technological depth and trust,” said Kim Hee-bae, CEO of EDB Korea. “We will expand the foundation of open-source databases by collaborating with partners from various industries, including this partnership.”

“By combining EDB’s technological prowess with Neoclova’s analytical capabilities, we can provide customers with a clear cloud transformation roadmap,” said Jaejoong Lee and Gyu-seong Kim, co-CEOs of Neoclova. “Through our collaboration with EDB, we will establish ourselves as a partner driving technological innovation.”
