Viewzen Signs Smart Film Supply Agreement with Roi Et Province, Thailand

VSION, a smart window solution specialist, announced on the 13th that it has signed a contract to supply PDLC smart film worth approximately 5 billion won with the Roi Et Province government in Thailand and completed the delivery.

Under this contract, Viewzon has supplied roll-type PDLC smart films to major public and administrative facilities, including Roi Et City Hall, and installation will proceed sequentially in accordance with the local construction schedule.

Roi Et Province has been exploring the introduction of technologies to conserve energy and improve the efficiency of public space operations, in line with the Thai government's smart city policy. To be designated as a smart city in Thailand, a city must meet various criteria, including smart communications, smart energy, smart living, smart industry and retail, smart mobility, smart environment, and smart healthcare.

Viewzon's architectural smart film, VEXA Space, blocks over 99.9% of ultraviolet (UV) rays and 80% of infrared (IR) rays, reducing building energy loss. According to the company's simulation results, application of the product resulted in a carbon emissions reduction of up to 62% per 1,000 square meters.

This project is part of Thailand's Digital Economy Promotion Agency's (DEPA) nationwide smart city expansion initiative. The Thai government is expanding local government-led initiatives with the goal of creating 105 smart cities nationwide by 2027, and Roi Et Province is one of the areas selected for demonstration technology adoption. This initiative is also sparking discussions about the potential expansion of the initiative to other designated smart city areas across Thailand.

Meanwhile, last year, Viewsion applied its smart window film and projector-linked display system, "Vsion Play," to the main conference room of the Thai National Assembly building. The company is pursuing energy efficiency and space utilization improvements in the construction, public, and mobility sectors, focusing on PDLC-based smart window solutions. It is also securing mass production and mass supply capabilities through its domestic production facility.
