Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Byeong-seon) announced on the 14th that it held the 'Rookie Demo Day' and 'Networking (LINK-UP)' programs, which are pre-startup package startup programs, at the Jeju Center J-Space and Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel banquet hall from the 5th to the 6th.
Rookie Demo Day was designed to strengthen the investment capabilities of companies selected for the Pre-Startup Package program, tailored to each stage, and provide IR pitching experience tailored to investment needs. Eight of the 28 companies participating in the Pre-Startup Package participated in a hands-on IR presentation, and one-on-one online mentoring sessions were also provided prior to the presentations.
Demo Day consisted of IR pitching and a Q&A session for each company. The winning companies were selected through evaluations by a panel of judges comprised of representatives from startup support organizations, accelerators, and venture capitalists. A total of eight companies were awarded prizes, including one grand prize winner, one excellence award winner, two excellence awards, and four encouragement awards.
The networking program was designed to share experiences and insights between aspiring startups and companies that graduated from the Pre-Startup Package. Through lectures by alumni startups, discussions were held on how to refine business ideas and prepare for the end of the agreement period. Representatives from regional alumni startups, including Jeju Sooul, Peter Peter, and Pictorial, participated in the event.
Additionally, on the same day, an information session was held on the Early Startup Package and the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, open to those who graduate from the Preliminary Startup Package. Representatives from the hosting organization attended to explain the program and answer questions.
The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation has already selected 28 potential startups with technology-based startup ideas and is currently operating a pre-startup package support program. Selected companies are provided with a variety of startup support programs, including commercialization funding, business model advancement, expert mentoring, global expansion, and market development.
