Seoul National University Technology Holdings Invests in Elementary Care Solution 'Our Spot'

Seoul National University Technology Holdings (CEO Seung-Hwan Mok) announced on the 15th that it has invested in elementary care solution company Our Spot (CEO Ji-Hye Jang and Hong-Seok Yoon).

Our Spot is a membership-based startup that fills the gap in childcare that occurs after elementary school dismissal. Kindergarteners and first to third graders leave school between noon and 2 p.m., but there's a gap of at least three to five hours in childcare until their guardians return home from work. Our Spot offers a one-stop care service, including pick-up and drop-off, snacks, and homework management, and offers a variety of activity programs focused on safety, play, growth, and relaxation.

Currently, public childcare services such as daycare classes and daycare centers are limited in their actual utilization due to limitations on hours, capacity, and poor quality of instruction. Private childcare services are also less sustainable due to cost and reliability issues.

Our Spot has recorded an average of 80 daily users at its two locations near elementary schools in Mapo-gu, with a cumulative total of over 2,000 children using the service. Recently, the company has expanded its business by adding a location in an apartment complex in Gaepo, Gangnam, and a location near Gajaeul Elementary School in Seodaemun-gu. The monthly membership renewal rate is 89%, demonstrating customer satisfaction and business sustainability.

Seoul National University Technology Holdings CEO Mok Seung-hwan said, “Our Spot is a company that addresses the practical care needs of dual-income families and has proven its business viability with field-verified operational data and a high repayment rate. We expect it to lead structural change by building a model that can be expanded across the entire elementary school care market.”

Our Spot co-CEOs Jang Ji-hye and Yoon Hong-seok stated, “Through this investment, we will expand our service area and provide services that are repeatedly used in the daily lives of more households.”
