Snowflake, an AI data cloud company, published its 'AI + Data Prediction 2026 Report' and predicted that agentic AI and data strategies will determine corporate AI performance in 2026.
According to the report, agentic AI will evolve beyond existing large-scale language models to structures with sophisticated inference and execution capabilities, and corporate AI use will enter a phase of building a company-wide AI ecosystem. To ensure reliability, self-verification mechanisms and feedback loops based on user feedback will become increasingly important, and specialized micro-agents for specific tasks will be gradually introduced.
To effectively leverage agentic AI, which is spreading across enterprise systems, a standardized AI protocol, open-source models, and a real-time processing-focused operational infrastructure are essential. Real-time data processing systems like Postgres are expected to play a key role. Furthermore, the expansion of agentic AI is a double-edged sword, increasing both cybersecurity threats and opportunities. However, it is anticipated that security operations centers (SOCs) can build effective response systems by combining AI-based tools with experts.
By industry, personalized customer experiences and AI shopping assistants are expected to expand in retail and consumer goods, data-based analysis and risk management agents will be utilized in financial services, and the manufacturing industry will rapidly adopt industry-specific chatbot-type AI agents for quality inspection, facility maintenance, and supply chain optimization.
