
Jobis&Villains (CEO Kim Beom-seop) , which operates the lifestyle platform 'Samjyeonsam', announced on the 16th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Seoul National University Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. (CEO Mok Seung-hwan) to 'build an AI-based lifestyle-oriented financial and life service ecosystem' and will cooperate in discovering and nurturing promising startups.
On the 15th, the two companies held a signing ceremony at Jarvis & Villains' headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and agreed to establish a joint investment system covering the entire startup process, from startup discovery to investment and commercialization. Key officials, including Jarvis & Villains CEO Kim Beom-seop and Seoul National University Technology Holdings CEO Mok Seung-hwan, attended the signing ceremony.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to establish a growth fund to discover promising startups. Aiming to address the challenges faced by non-regular workers, such as gig workers, freelancers, and small business owners, who are relatively excluded from financial and lifestyle benefits, the company plans to build an ecosystem of AI-based, life-focused services and support early-stage startups with aligned goals. Furthermore, the company plans to gradually expand its investment by attracting additional external partners, including financial institutions.
This joint investment is expected to contribute to supporting the market establishment of startups facing difficulties in the early stages of their business. Jarvis & Villains' business experience, accumulated through operating the Samjjeomsam service, which has 24 million users, and Seoul National University Technology Holdings' investment and business development capabilities are expected to generate synergy.
Last September, Jarvis & Villains acquired insurtech company MicroProtect and electronics commerce company BQ, declaring its expansion into a platform encompassing all aspects of daily life. This agreement marks the company's expansion into an accelerator supporting early-stage startup investments.
Founded in 2008, Seoul National University Technology Holdings is a technology-based venture capital firm. Currently, it manages 14 funds totaling KRW 120 billion. Leveraging Seoul National University's technological prowess and human infrastructure, it has focused on fostering companies. Key early-stage investments include Rebellion, an AI semiconductor company, and Travel Wallet, a currency exchange and international payment service.
