Softsquared Hosts Domestic Track for 'Scoop AI Hackathon'

Softsquared (CEO Lee Ha-neul) announced on the 16th that it held the domestic track of the "Scoop AI Hackathon," based on the global AI and Web3 platform SpoonOS. The event brought together 150 developers from eight countries, including Korea, forming 20 teams. Participants utilized AI tools to complete collaborative projects and competed for a total prize pool of $8,000.

The Scoop AI Hackathon is a global program themed "AI and Human Collaboration," where developers from different countries and backgrounds collaborate on projects using a variety of AI tools. Softsquared planned and operated the domestic track, leveraging its network and collaborative operations experience with its developer community, "Nerdinary."

Participants developed using SpoonOS, an integrated Web3-centric AI orchestration platform. Collaboration was achieved not only through code writing but also through AI-powered processes such as feature prioritization, problem definition, and planning.

The project that drew attention during the evaluation was "STORY-World," a web novel-based AI chatbot service aimed at helping isolated and reclusive youth reintegrate into society. This service is designed to gradually restore social interaction through non-face-to-face content formats, mediated by conversations with AI characters. The project has been recognized for its technological implementation and applicability, and its commercialization potential is currently under review.

The judging panel included domestic AI and software development experts. Yang Su-yeol, CTO of Crowdworks, commented, "We were able to witness developers from different countries collaborating as a single team, centered around AI. It was impressive how AI was utilized naturally as part of the collaborative process, rather than simply as a supplementary tool."

Lee Ha-neul, CEO of Softsquared, said, “We were able to run the global hackathon stably in Korea through our developer network,” and added, “This hackathon was an example of examining the foundation for collaboration with the global AI ecosystem, and will serve as a starting point for expanding the possibilities for future collaboration.”
