Superb AI (CEO Hyunsoo Kim) , a vision AI all-in-one solution company, announced on the 19th that it, along with LG AI Research Institute, was selected as the second consortium to implement the National AI Foundation Model Construction Project, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). The consortium ranked first in all evaluation categories.
Superb AI, in its first project results announced on the 14th, completed the construction of a multimodal data set for ultra-large-scale AI training in collaboration with the LG AI Research Consortium. The LG AI Research Consortium demonstrated its technological competitiveness by achieving top scores across benchmarks, expert evaluations, and user evaluations. The second project will pursue research and development aimed at enhancing ultra-large-scale AI performance and expanding its reach across industries.
SuperbAI is responsible for implementing physical AI, which extends AI from virtual environments to the physical realm. Physical AI, a technology that perceives the real world and enables robots or autonomous systems to take action, is considered a core technology for future industries such as robotics and autonomous driving. SuperbAI is dedicated to the high-level vision data technology that forms the foundation for implementing physical AI.
The company plans to use its accumulated visual information processing and 3D spatial information interpretation technologies in the field of vision AI to help LG AI Research Institute's ultra-large AI model EXAONE understand the physical world.
Kim Hyun-soo, CEO of Superb AI, stated that through this project, the company will verify its technological capabilities and present data infrastructure and technology standards to secure competitiveness in the global physical AI market.
This consortium is comprised of a total of 10 companies, including LG Group affiliates such as LG U+ and LG CNS, LG AI Research Center, Superb AI, Furiosa AI, Friendly AI, Eastsoft, East Aid, Hangul & Computer, and Rutton Technologies, who are collaborating with the goal of achieving self-reliance in the Korean AI transition ecosystem throughout the entire AI cycle.
Meanwhile, Superb AI is supporting AI transformation in various industries such as manufacturing, security, and robotics through the Superb platform, which supports the entire process of introducing vision AI, and the Superb video surveillance solution based on real-time video analysis.
