Xenon Appoints Kim Hak-do, Former Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, as Outside Director

Xenon (CEO Seok-Tae Ko), a company specializing in generative AI solutions, announced on the 19th that it has appointed former Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups Hak-Do Kim as an outside director. Kim's official appointment was made at the extraordinary general shareholders' meeting held on the 15th.

The appointment of this outside director is interpreted as a strategic decision to enhance management transparency and reliability in preparation for an initial public offering (IPO) and to support business expansion into core industries such as energy and manufacturing.

Kim Hak-do, the newly appointed outside director, has accumulated experience in industrial policy and SME support, having served as Director of the Energy and Resources Bureau at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, President of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. Drawing on his comprehensive understanding of public, private, and technology policy, he is expected to play a key role in expanding the application of AI technology to the public and industrial sectors.

Building on its generative AI solution capabilities, built primarily in the financial industry, Xenon has recently expanded its business into key national industries such as energy, power generation, and manufacturing, as well as the SME market. Director Kim's addition is expected to contribute to the concretization of industry-specific AX strategies, strengthening public-sector collaboration, and strengthening cross-industry partnerships.

“It is meaningful to have former Vice Minister Kim, who has deep experience across industry and public administration, as an outside director,” said Ko Seok-tae, CEO of Xenon. “Through this appointment, we will thoroughly prepare for the IPO and strengthen our management system so that we can leap forward as a trusted AI partner across industries.”
