Colosseum Corporation Signs MOU with Japan's Daiwa Corporation

Global logistics DX partner Colosseum Corporation (CEO Jin-soo Park) announced on the 19th that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Daiwa Corporation, a Japanese logistics and warehouse specialist.

This agreement aims to establish a logistics collaboration system between Korea and Japan, further enhancing cross-border logistics operations with a stable and standardized structure. The two companies will establish a collaborative system across all stages of logistics services, including storage, shipment, transportation, last-mile delivery, and customs clearance. They will also pursue joint projects that combine data-driven systems with on-site operational expertise.

Daiwa Corporation, established in 1951, is a leading Japanese logistics company that has provided services such as warehouse management, logistics space rental, and customized logistics consulting. It operates a total of 31 logistics bases centered in the Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama regions, and its total operating area amounts to approximately 1,044,687 m2.

The Japanese logistics market has recently seen increasing operational complexity due to diversification of sales channels, increased volatility in freight volumes, and an aging workforce. Colosseum has focused on establishing a stable logistics operation foundation through the integration of WMS, OMS, and TMS systems, standard operating standards, and on-site automation integration.

Key elements of the collaboration between the two companies include the introduction of "Colo AI" within Daiwa's logistics center, the establishment of a logistics collaboration system between Korea and Japan, and new customer discovery and joint sales efforts. The focus will be on establishing a standardized operating model across e-commerce fulfillment, B2B, FBA, and cross-border logistics in Japan.

They will also jointly pursue logistics expansion focused on growth businesses such as K-culture and K-beauty. These sectors are characterized by high operational complexity due to SKU diversification, high-frequency, small-quantity shipments, and rapid inventory turnover. The two companies plan to establish a systems-based operational structure to maintain quality and lead times in the Japanese market.

Colosseum CEO Park Jin-soo said, “This collaboration goes beyond a simple MOU and is the starting point for redesigning the logistics collaboration structure between Korea and Japan.” He added, “Through system integration, we will establish a stable logistics foundation and enhance the logistics flow connecting Japan and Korea in the long term.”

Daiwa Corporation CEO Kazumitsu Sone stated, “By combining Colosseum’s logistics expertise with our own infrastructure, we will optimize the supply chain, establish an efficient logistics model, and enhance the sustainability of international logistics.”
