The Technology Guarantee Fund ( Chairman Jong-ho Kim , hereinafter referred to as the " KIBO ") is a specialized " BIRD (Bridge for Innovative Technology )" fund for local governments ( hereinafter referred to as the " Local Governments ") to strengthen the technological competitiveness of small and medium-sized venture companies and promote balanced regional development. The 'BIRD Program ' is Kibo 's representative excellent innovation support model that systematically supports technology development and commercialization of small and medium-sized enterprises through full-cycle R&D support . This year, through collaboration with Seoul Metropolitan City ( Seoul Economic Promotion Agency ), South Chungcheong Province ( Chungnam Techno Park ), and Daejeon Metropolitan City ( Daejeon Techno Park ) , we will significantly increase the support scale of the existing ' Seoul-type BIRD Program ' and ' Chungnam-type We are introducing new programs called the 'BIRD Program ' and the ' Daejeon-type BIRD Program . ' Through these programs, we plan to strengthen R&D support tailored to the characteristics of each region's industries and support the revitalization of the local industrial ecosystem .
The BIRD program consists of ▲ Stage 1 Pre-R&D ( Guaranteed Funds from the Korea Development Bank ) ▲ Stage 2 R&D ( Local Government Research and Development) It is operated in a three- stage structure including ▲ Stage 3 Post-R&D ( Guarantee of commercialization funds ) , and provides broad support for the entire R&D cycle of small and medium-sized venture companies .
In the first stage, after the business announcement, the applicant companies will undergo a preliminary review , written evaluation , deliberation by a professional review committee , and technical evaluation to select the final participating companies . Selected companies will receive ▲development planning fund guarantee. Support ▲ Increase in guarantee ratio (85% → 100%) ▲ Application of preferential guarantee rate (within 1% ) ▲ Opportunities for investment recommendations for desired companies, etc. are provided .
In the second stage, each local government provides the funds necessary for conducting R&D , and in the third stage, Kibo provides a commercialization fund guarantee of up to 3 billion won per company to ensure that the results of technology development lead to actual commercialization. We plan to support this .
