Seoul Robotics (CEO Lee Han-bin) , an AI-based logistics autonomous driving startup, announced on the 20th that it has hired Woo Sang-gil, who served as CFO at Hyundai Motor Group's Singapore Global Innovation Center (HMGICS), as its Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
CFO Woo Sang-gil has held key cost and finance positions at Hyundai Motor Group for approximately 16 years, accumulating extensive experience in development, mass production systems, quality requirements, and the entire delivery process for major automakers. The company expects this experience to provide financial and operational support for the commercialization of autonomous driving solutions within global automotive plants.
At HMGICS, Hyundai Motor Group's first overseas innovation hub, CFO Woo designed the business structure and financial strategy, and led the initial large-scale investment attraction, financing, and budget execution. He also pioneered the adoption of a smart factory cost management system tailored to cell manufacturing, achieving both production efficiency and cost savings. He also established a manufacturing technology R&D system to develop and verify new manufacturing technologies, enabling production and R&D to operate from a single location.
Previously, he was responsible for establishing the initial cost system for the Hyundai Motor Company Gwangju Global Motors (GGM) project, and has experience in financial management across the manufacturing industry, including approximately 10 years of cost management and profitability improvement work at the Hyundai Motor Company Asan Plant.
Seoul Robotics believes that the appointment of this CFO will strengthen its sales growth and commercialization capabilities. The company believes that a finance manager with a deep understanding of the mass production of finished vehicles will be able to support a commercialization roadmap tailored to customer needs and optimize its cost structure.
The company plans to expand its global presence in key markets such as Japan, Europe, and the United States in the future, while systematically designing its financial structure and cost structure to accommodate the expansion of mass production.
Lee Han-bin, CEO of Seoul Robotics, evaluated CFO Woo Sang-gil as someone with experience in establishing Hyundai Motor Group's overseas innovation base and introducing a smart factory cost management system, and explained that he is a key talent who will lead the commercialization of autonomous driving solutions for global automobile factories and the expansion of overseas business.
CFO Woo Sang-gil stated his commitment to contributing to Seoul Robotics' AI-based autonomous logistics technology and enhancing its competitiveness in the global market.
