
Beyond Medicine Co., Ltd. (CEO Daehyun Kim), a company specializing in AI-based digital therapeutics (DTx), announced on the 21st that it won the grand prize at the '2nd Shin Kyuk-ho Lotte Young Entrepreneur Award' hosted by the Lotte Scholarship Foundation.
The Lotte Scholarship Foundation held the finals and awards ceremony at the Lotte World Tower Sky31 Convention Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul on December 25th. The competition was divided into two categories: general industry sectors such as food, distribution, services, finance, and social ventures; and AI, semiconductors, biohealth, deep tech, and national strategic technology-based sectors.
A total of 380 startups participated, and after preliminary and final evaluations and mentoring, 17 teams advanced to the finals. Winners, including the Grand Prize and Excellence Award, were selected through in-person evaluations. "Fucose Clean Factory" won the Grand Prize in Category 1, and "Innomaxine" won the Grand Prize in Category 2. Beyond Medicine was recognized for its innovation and commercial viability, winning the Grand Prize.
Beyond Medicine is a digital healthcare startup that developed "Clickless," an AI-based digital treatment device for temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). This product is the first in Korea to receive Class 2 approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for the treatment of TMD, and was also designated as the first innovative medical device in the dental field. The company recently completed confirmatory clinical trials and is currently pursuing full-scale commercialization and global market entry.
The judging panel praised Beyond Medicine, saying, “It is a team that stands out with its clinical evidence-based digital therapeutic device technology, clear commercialization strategy, and global expansion potential,” and “It is a company that can create real social value in the biohealth field, a national strategic technology.”
Kim Dae-hyun, CEO of Beyond Medicine, said, “Winning the Grand Prize is a recognition not only of our technological prowess, but also of our corporate direction and growth potential.” He added, “We will continue to improve the quality of life for patients through digital therapeutic devices and grow into a competitive healthcare company in the global market.”
The winning team of this competition will be provided with prize money and the opportunity to present their business model to investment institutions. They will also be linked to follow-up startup and technology advancement support programs through the Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation.
