Caregen, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in peptides, announced on the 21st that Lin Chaohui, chairman of Yishijin Pharmaceutical Group, one of China's top 100 pharmaceutical companies, and key executives visited its headquarters in Seoul.
The delegation toured Caregen's R&D center and showroom, experiencing cutting-edge peptide technology and three flagship products: ProGsterol, Myoki, and Korglutide.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed the schedule for exclusive distribution of the three products in China and the progress of local approvals and clinical trials. Initial quantities have already arrived in China, and sales are scheduled to begin in February through major Chinese e-commerce channels.
Caregen emphasized the efficacy of its products, which offer obesity and diabetes management and muscle health solutions, taking into account the unique characteristics of the Chinese market. The delegation particularly focused on the blood sugar and weight management mechanisms of coglutide and progesterone, as well as the muscle health benefits of Myoki's previous generation.
An official from Ishijin Pharmaceutical said, “Our collaboration with Caregen is an opportunity to change the landscape of the Chinese health food market,” and added, “We will rapidly expand our products and aggressively expand our market share by utilizing our online and offline distribution networks.”
Caregen signed a five-year, approximately KRW 557 billion exclusive supply contract for peptide health functional foods with Ishijin Pharmaceutical late last year, and explained that this visit marked the beginning of a substantial sales partnership. Caregen CEO Jeong Yong-ji stated, "Based on this collaboration, we will secure a leading position in the Chinese market and drive global sales growth."
Yishijin Pharmaceutical Group is a comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine company headquartered in Qichun, Hubei Province. This collaboration is seen as a strategy to advance the scientific and modernization of traditional Chinese medicine by combining its traditional Chinese medicine brand with Caregen's advanced peptide technology.
