Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center Launches Youth Entrepreneurship Group Project

The Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center announced that it will promote the Gyeongbuk Youth Entrepreneurship Group Project with a donation from Novelis Korea, and held a signing ceremony and orientation at the Gyeongbuk Center on January 22, 2026.

This project goes beyond a simple idea contest or one-time training program. It's designed as a practical, intensive entrepreneurship program designed to help young aspiring entrepreneurs develop into well-prepared entrepreneurs ready to take on government and local government startup support programs. The program is divided into two tracks: Gyeongbuk Track and Yeongju Track, with two teams each. The program provides step-by-step support throughout the entire startup preparation process for aspiring entrepreneurs aged 39 and under.

The Gyeongbuk Center implements a comprehensive support model for the entire startup process, from idea generation to commercialization and follow-up. Key programs include a Business Model Sprint for business model advancement, an IP Sprint for intellectual property strategy development, a commercialization grant of 10 million won per team, and follow-up support including follow-up investment and business linkages.

The Gyeongbuk Center and Novelis Korea also ran the Gyeongbuk Youth Local Rebuilding Ideathon in 2024, utilizing the same amount of donations. The event was evaluated as having resulted in young people directly identifying local issues and proposing solutions, thereby strengthening their understanding of the region and their problem-solving capabilities.

Novelis Korea, the sponsor of this project, is a global company with a competitive edge in the aluminum rolling and recycling sectors. It continues to engage in social contribution activities that link its core values with the growth of local communities.

The Gyeongbuk Center will operate the program for approximately six months, starting with this orientation, and will continue to provide systematic support to participating teams so they can connect with follow-up projects. Through this project, the Center plans to focus on supporting youth entrepreneurship ideas to revitalize the local economy.
