Pointbreak Secures Seed Investment from Altos Ventures

Point Break Co., Ltd. (CEO Son Ho-cheol), operator of the skincare brand "BTTR," announced on the 27th that it had secured seed investment from Altos Ventures. The investment amount was not disclosed.

This investment was solely made by Altos Ventures and was based on an evaluation of Pointbreak's brand planning and operation capabilities and the team composition that executes them.

Point Break is a brand management company co-founded by CEO Son Ho-cheol, who launched the contemporary brand SATUR, along with Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Lee Jin and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Seo Ki-ho. Launching its first brand, the skincare line bttr, the company leveraged its experience in operating existing brands to enter the beauty market.

To address the rapidly changing trends and highly competitive beauty market, the company has established a functionally focused organizational structure. CEO Son Ho-cheol oversees brand direction and planning, CSO Lee Jin oversees global strategy and external communications, and COO Seo Ki-ho oversees product development, customer communication, and overall operations.

BTTR's brand slogan, "The Better Standard," signifies the process of gradually becoming a better version of yourself in everyday life. Point Break aims to reduce the burden of choice for consumers amidst the proliferation of new brands by establishing a clear brand direction based on product quality and healthy skin care, rather than excessive marketing.

Son Ho-chul, CEO of Point Break, said, "If fashion is an industry that expresses individuality and identity, skincare is closely related to a person's healthy daily life. Building on our experience running existing brands, we aimed to build a brand with sustainable standards in the K-beauty market, which is expanding globally." He added, "Altos Ventures has been a partner who has been working with our team on our direction from the very beginning."
