Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center announced that it has made an initial investment of 300 million won in AI-based emotional intelligence technology startup Ailit, headquartered in Jinju, and has signed an agreement with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups for its final selection for Freetips, a technology startup support program.
Ailit is a startup developing an integrated platform that connects the entire appraisal, trading, and storage process for high-value physical assets, such as precious metals and luxury goods, using AI-based, unmanned appraisal technology. The company aims to address persistent trust issues in the luxury goods resale and alternative investment markets through its technological infrastructure.
The Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation selected Ailit as a beneficiary of its 2025 Acceleration Support Program and has been providing gradual support for technology verification and market entry. This direct investment and Freetips partnership agreement are considered official recognition of Ailit's technological competitiveness and business viability.
Through this agreement, Ailit plans to actively pursue the advancement of AI-based unmanned appraisal kiosks, the establishment of an online real-world asset trading platform, and the expansion of offline verification tests.
Furthermore, prior to attracting investment, Ailit entered into a strategic partnership with Kookcon, a domestic business data platform company, in December of last year. Kookcon provides API services across various sectors, including finance, public sector, and distribution, based on a data infrastructure linked to domestic and international financial institutions.
The two companies plan to enhance service competitiveness and operational efficiency by linking Kucoin's data API to the Ailit platform, and to establish a cooperative model that combines a trust-based real asset appraisal and trading ecosystem with data infrastructure.
With this selection as a FreeTips and investment attraction, Ailit plans to expand its real asset AI appraisal technology into the finance, distribution, and alternative investment sectors, and enter a full-scale scale-up phase.
Noh Chung-sik, head of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, said that they are strengthening support to enable innovative startups to move beyond technology verification in the region and into the investment and growth stages, and that they will actively support technology-based companies like Ailit to continue to grow based in Gyeongnam.
