Neptune announced on the 27th that its board of directors had approved a merger with its wholly owned subsidiary, Tripla. The merger is scheduled to take place on April 1, 2026.
Neptune explained that the merger was decided to increase corporate value and shareholder value by integrating the businesses of both companies and improving management efficiency.
Triplela is a mobile game developer acquired by Neptune in September 2021, aiming to globalize its casual game service capabilities. Its focus has been developing hybrid casual games centered around the tycoon genre.
Tripla's flagship game, Cat Snack Bar, surpassed 10 million cumulative downloads in just three months following its global launch in early 2023. To date, it has recorded 45 million cumulative downloads and KRW 40 billion in cumulative sales. The game is considered the flagship title that launched Tripla's Cat series.
Tripla recorded sales of KRW 26.8 billion and operating profit of KRW 3 billion in 2023, and achieved sales of KRW 52.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 6.37 billion in 2025 through the continued success of the cat series and diversification of its lineup.
Heo San Tripla, CEO, stated that in addition to the Cat series, the company plans to continue developing various games and pursue publishing business targeting domestic and foreign developers with growth potential, and that as a member of Neptune, he will contribute to increasing the company's corporate value.
After the merger, all former Tripla employees will be assigned to a dedicated department within Neptune responsible for hybrid casual games.
