Won Law Firm (CEOs Ki-won Yoon and Yu-jeong Lee) won three awards in the "2025 Korea Law Firm Awards" presented by the Asia Business Law Journal (ABLJ) in categories including Defense Industry, ESG, and Entertainment & Sports. These awards demonstrate Won Law Firm's international recognition for its expertise.
ABLJ is a prestigious legal publication that conducts surveys and evaluations of domestic and international corporations and law firms in Asia to select outstanding law firms. Won Law Firm continued its track record by winning awards in the ESG category for two consecutive years and in the Entertainment & Sports category for three consecutive years, and also achieved its first award in the defense industry.
In its evaluation, ABLJ stated, "Won Law Firm has recruited attorneys Tae-Hwi Lee and Soo-Dong Lee as partners to strengthen its defense and industry legal advisory capabilities." The firm added, "The reorganized defense and industry team, comprised of experts from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, has proven its expertise and track record, including representing the Ministry of National Defense in a 45 billion won unjust enrichment lawsuit." The firm also highlighted cases of supporting domestic defense companies' entry into the US market and providing policy consulting services for the CMMC (Committee on Defense Management).
Last year, Won Law Firm's ESG Center systematized its advisory capabilities across all areas of ESG and expanded its scope to include compliance and risk by recruiting Center Director Tae-kyung Lee as Co-Chief. The firm's hands-on approach, encompassing ESG disclosure risk analysis, corporate governance consulting, and sustainability reporting, received high praise.
The Media and Entertainment team leverages its accumulated experience in the content industries, including film, drama, and animation, to provide prompt and high-quality consulting and dispute resolution. With the global expansion of K-content, co-productions with Southeast Asian production companies and overseas investment consulting have expanded. Furthermore, the team systematically operates a copyright and rights verification system to carry out overseas IP protection projects.
“Winning the first award in the defense industry and consecutive awards in the ESG, Entertainment & Sports sectors is the result of our proactive response to industry changes,” said Lee Yu-jeong, the firm’s representative attorney. “We will continue to provide effective solutions to companies’ complex risks.”
