Pungjin Selected for 2026 Emerging AI+X Top 100 for Six Consecutive Years

Defense vertical AI specialist company Funjin (CEO Deukhwa Kim) announced on the 28th that it was selected for the '2026 Emerging AI+X Top 100' hosted by the Korea Artificial Intelligence Industry Association (AIIA) for the 6th consecutive year.

The Emerging AI+X Top 100 is a list of promising companies pioneering new markets through convergence between artificial intelligence (AI) and various industries, including defense, security, manufacturing, and mobility. Fundin was included in this year's list in the AI Development Environment category.

FUNGIN's six consecutive years of selection are attributed primarily to its continued achievements in autonomous driving and mobility AI, leveraging ICT and AIoT technologies, even before its defense AI achievements. FUNGIN was first selected for the Emerging AI+X Top 100, building business performance centered on autonomous driving and intelligent control technologies. Furthermore, it has demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the global market by participating in CES for five consecutive years.

The company is expanding the AIoT, communications, data, and edge AI technologies it has acquired through this process into the defense sector, establishing a comprehensive AI strategy and performance-driven growth model that transcends industry boundaries. Notably, last year, the company conducted the first-ever AI combat staff combat experiment since the military's founding, demonstrating the feasibility of the KWM AI command and decision support system for real-world operation. Furthermore, EagleEye, its AI synthetic data generation platform, became the first defense AI software company to receive DQ Mark certification from the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality.

Currently, Funjin is focusing on edge and on-device AI, and few-shot and zero-shot learning-based technologies, expanding beyond autonomous driving and national defense into the public security and public safety industries. Furthermore, the company plans to gradually establish the technology and business foundation for entry into overseas markets.

Kim Deuk-hwa, CEO of Fundin, said, “Being selected as the Emerging AI+X Top 100 for six consecutive years means that our strategy of targeting AI that works in real-world situations has been recognized as competitive in the market,” and added, “Based on AI technology proven in the defense sector, we will expand our business areas to include public security and global public safety.”
