Airability Signs MOU with Korea Drone Industry Association

Airability, a future aviation mobility specialist, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Anti-Drone Industry Association for business cooperation in the drone and anti-drone fields.

This agreement was pursued to strengthen technological competitiveness in the defense and security sectors through the convergence of counter-drone technology and unmanned aerial vehicle systems to counter drone threats, and to promote mutual growth between both organizations through defense industry cooperation.

The two organizations agreed to jointly pursue ongoing research and development in the field of drone and counter-drone convergence technology and proactively respond to changing domestic and international market demands. Furthermore, they will analyze technological trends across counter-drone systems, including drone detection, identification, and neutralization, and collaborate to develop practical, deployable technological outcomes based on this analysis.

In particular, the plan is to create synergy in the defense and security fields by combining Airbility's tilt electric propulsion-based high-speed eVTOL and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development capabilities with the Korea Drone Industry Association's drone technology network.

With the recent increase in drone-based threats worldwide, the importance of integrated counter-drone systems encompassing drone detection, identification, and neutralization is growing. The convergence technology developed through this collaboration is expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic counter-drone industry.

Yang Byeong-hee, president of the Korea Drone Industry Association, said, “We expect that our collaboration with Airability will contribute to the technological advancement and market expansion of the drone industry,” and added, “We will continue to work closely together to create tangible results.”

Lee Jin-mo, CEO of Airability, said, “Through this collaboration with the Korea Anti-Drone Industry Association, we will combine cutting-edge UAV and eVTOL technologies with anti-drone technologies to create real value in the defense and security sectors,” adding, “We will secure competitiveness in the domestic and international anti-drone markets.”
