Now Robotics Co., Ltd. (CEO Jong-Joo Lee) , an intelligent robot specialist company, announced on the 2nd that after acquiring shares of Hanyang Robotics, a robot automation specialist company, the two companies have transitioned to an integrated operating system and begun full-scale business integration.
This acquisition is part of a strategic merger and acquisition (M&A) initiative to implement Now Robotics' mid- to long-term growth strategy. The goal is to strengthen its industrial robot manufacturing capabilities and establish a system to respond to large-scale orders. Currently, the two companies have integrated their core business areas, including sales, production, research and development (R&D), and customer support, into an integrated operating system, and the legal merger process will proceed sequentially.
Hanyang Robotics, a specialized industrial robot company with approximately 30 years of experience, boasts a strong domestic and international customer base in the fields of retrieval robots and automated robots. It also boasts a large-scale production facility spanning approximately 5,000 pyeong (approximately 16,000 square meters). With this acquisition, Now Robotics secures a mass production infrastructure, laying the foundation for strengthening its global order-taking capabilities.
Now Robotics plans to build an integrated robotics company structure that encompasses the entire cycle from design, manufacturing, automation, and service by combining Hanyang Robotics' manufacturing and supply capabilities with its existing industrial multi-joint robots, SCARAs, AMRs, and automation system construction businesses.
Additionally, the company is focusing on developing next-generation core robot technologies, including AI-based robot control technology, humanoid core drive technology, next-generation reducers, and high-precision servo control technology. Based on the production infrastructure secured through this acquisition, the company also plans to accelerate the establishment of a mass production system for its future robot business.
Lee Jong-joo, CEO of Now Robotics, said, “This acquisition is an important strategic turning point for Now Robotics to leap forward as a global comprehensive robotics company.” He added, “By combining the technological prowess and manufacturing infrastructure of both companies, we will establish a system to respond to large-scale orders and expand our competitiveness in the next-generation robot market, including AI, humanoids, and smart factory robots.”
