Dentis Designated as a "Cutting-Edge Technology Company" by the Ministry of Science and ICT

Dentis (CEO Ki-bong Shim), a dental and medical solutions company, has been designated as a high-tech company by the Ministry of Science and ICT. This designation allows Dentis to anticipate tax benefits worth approximately 10 billion won over the next five years, including corporate tax reductions and local tax benefits.

Designation as a high-tech company is determined by a comprehensive evaluation of companies located within special research and development zones, based on their patent competitiveness, R&D capabilities, and technology commercialization performance, in accordance with the Special Act on the Promotion of Research and Development Zones. Designated companies receive tax benefits, including corporate tax, acquisition tax, and property tax, to support R&D reinvestment and technological advancement.

Dentis will build a new dental business plant on Yulam-ro, Dong-gu, Daegu in 2024 and be incorporated into the Daegu Innovation City Research and Development Special Zone. This designation as a high-tech company was achieved by meeting the requirements for location within the R&D Special Zone.

During the designation process, Dentis was recognized for its technological and economic competitiveness in implant and manufacturing technologies. The screw design technology, which considers implant stress distribution, demonstrated advancements and differentiation compared to existing technologies, and animal testing demonstrated osseointegration stability. Furthermore, Dentis achieved outstanding results in key quantitative indicators, including Osstell Mentor (ISQ 70 or higher) and AnyCheck (IST 80 or higher).

With its designation as a high-tech company, Dentis will receive a 100% corporate tax exemption for the next three years and a 50% reduction for the following two years. It will also receive reductions in local taxes, including acquisition and property taxes. The company plans to utilize these benefits to improve profitability and reinvest in research and development.

A Dentis representative stated that this designation is the result of official recognition of the implant technology and industry positioning accumulated over 20 years, and that the company will pursue enhanced profitability and sustainable growth based on the secured financial capacity.
