Vieworks , a medical and industrial imaging solutions specialist, has signed a digital slide scanner supply contract with a major European diagnostic equipment company, expanding its presence in the global pathology diagnostic market.
Vieworks announced that it has signed a contract to supply its high-performance slide scanner, the Bisq DPS, to a leading European diagnostic equipment company. This contract marks its second major regional success, following its US supply, and is seen as a reaffirmation of the Bisq DPS's commercial viability and technological reliability in the global market.
According to the company, the new European partner decided to implement Bisq DPS after comprehensively verifying its processing speed, image quality, and operational efficiency in a real-world pathology diagnostic environment for approximately one year. This agreement suggests the potential for expanded distribution across hospitals and diagnostic networks across Europe, rather than focusing solely on a single institution.
Bisq DPS utilizes Vieworks' proprietary real-time focus expansion technology, and is recognized for its high-definition capabilities, high-volume slide processing speed, and versatility in pathology testing. By simultaneously capturing images from different focal points and then synthesizing only the sharpest areas in real time, Bisq DPS improves resolution while reducing data volume by approximately 20% when generating full-slide images.
The device can hold up to 510 tissue slides internally and can produce up to 83 full-slide images per hour. This performance is considered suitable for large hospitals or pathology environments requiring processing of large numbers of slides.
Furthermore, a single device can digitize both histopathology and cytopathology slides, allowing hospitals to operate the entire pathology diagnostic process without the need for additional equipment. This also reduces equipment investment costs and maintenance burden.
Vieworks plans to build a solution that encompasses the entire pathology diagnosis process by sequentially launching the LH210 model for small and medium-sized hospitals, a small slide scanner for laboratories, and imaging management software, centered around its flagship model, the LH510.
A company official stated that with this European supply contract as an opportunity, the company will focus on expanding its global supply chain, focusing on the United States and Europe.
Meanwhile, according to market research firms, the global digital pathology market is expected to continue growing over the next several years, with the digital transformation of the pathology diagnostics field expected to accelerate.
