LaonSecure Signs MOU with Konyang University's Global Business Promotion Team

AI security and authentication platform company LaonSecure will collaborate with Konyang University to establish a digital authentication system for the Global University Project.

LaonSecure announced that it has signed a business agreement with the Glocal Business Promotion Team of Konkuk University to collaborate on a digital identity verification project. This agreement aims to integrate LaonSecure's blockchain-based digital identity verification technology and information security capabilities into the government's Glocal University project.

The two parties plan to build a campus digital certification platform model that connects individual students' learning activities, qualification acquisition, digital certification, and practical application in a single flow, and to expand this model throughout the South Chungcheong region. First, learning history and achievements generated not only from regular curriculum but also from extracurricular activities such as clubs, volunteer work, and projects will be managed in the form of digital certification, enabling external use, such as for employment.

Additionally, an integrated authentication model will be introduced, linking DID-based student identification with electronic certificates and digital badges. This will allow students to issue certificates, manage their learning history, and demonstrate competency in a single, one-stop process using a single digital identity.

For international students residing abroad, a DID-based preliminary acceptance certificate and digital student ID will be issued, digitally assigning university affiliation even before entry. Plans are also being considered to expand the scope of authentication benefits beyond current students to include faculty, staff, university hospital employees, and community members.

The two parties will also collaborate on a pilot project to expand the digital authentication model established on campus to local industries and public institutions. Through this, they plan to discover talent development and recruitment models that connect universities, regions, and industries, and promote the creation of a regional innovation ecosystem.

The technological foundation of this collaboration will utilize Raonsecure's blockchain platform, the "OmniOne" series. "OmniOne Digital ID" is a platform that integrates identity and credential management, supporting secure and reliable authentication both on and off campus. "OmniOne Badge" is designed to authenticate and share learning achievements, such as degrees, diplomas, qualifications, and course completion records, in the form of digital badges in an internationally standardized format.

Considering the long-term nature of the Global University project, LaonSecure plans to gradually build a self-sustaining business model based on digital IDs that will remain sustainable even after government support ends. These digital IDs will be used as a means of objectively proving the capabilities of university members and local talent, and are expected to expand into an infrastructure that connects local businesses and public institutions in the future.
