Medical AI (CEO Kwon Jun-myeong), a medical AI company spun off from Sejong Hospital, has completed preparations for a deep-tech listing by achieving excellent results in the technology evaluation for a technology-specific listing on the KOSDAQ.
Last month, Medical AI received an A rating from both of the Korea Exchange's designated professional rating agencies. While the ultra-gap technology listing (deep tech listing), which is one of the more stringent technology special listing requirements, can be applied for through a single agency, it received the highest rating in both evaluations, demonstrating its technological maturity and marketability.
The medical AI field requires comprehensive verification of not only algorithm performance but also clinical effectiveness, data reliability, and regulatory compliance, posing a high technological barrier to entry. The industry is noting that Medical AI meets these requirements and received the highest rating in its technology evaluation.
In October of last year, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP) recognized the company as the first medical AI company to receive national strategic technology recognition for its "heart disease diagnosis technology using electrocardiogram analysis AI algorithms (AiTiA Series)". This technology has been recognized as a key national asset in the advanced bio field.
CEO Kwon Jun-myung stated, “Based on this technology assessment, we will begin full-scale preparations for listing under the Deep Tech Technology Special Act and strengthen our competitiveness in the global medical AI market.”
Meanwhile, Medical AI's medical device software 'AiTiALVSD' is being used by over 2 million people in 236 medical institutions at home and abroad, and in September of last year, 'AiTiALVSD-1L', a heart failure diagnosis assistance software utilizing a smartwatch electrocardiogram, was the first in the world to receive manufacturing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
