Jimmy Mission and Anyang University Sign MOU for AI-Based Digital Humanities Collaboration

JMission Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Jun-seop), an AI transformation specialist company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Anyang University's HK+ Business Unit (Director Kwak Moon-seok) to apply artificial intelligence technology in the field of digital humanities.

This agreement was made to combine Jimision's AI technology with Anyang University's HK+ Project Group's East-West exchange literature research capabilities to jointly develop AI solutions specialized in the interpretation and analysis of ancient documents and to promote an innovative transformation of digital humanities.

The two sides plan to cooperate in five key areas: developing VLM-based OCR and automatic translation technologies specialized in ancient documents, establishing an ontology platform for East-West exchange documents, developing a humanities LLM foundation model, co-hosting regular colloquiums, and cooperating on global digital humanities research.

At the 30th Digital Humanities Colloquium held on the same day, the Mission research team presented on old Korean OCR fine-tuning techniques, VLM-based ancient document text recognition, and document-dictionary ontology mapping, while Anyang University's HK+ project team shared examples of digital utilization of East-West exchange documents and discussed cooperation plans.

Jimision CEO Han Jun-seop stated that AI technology will serve as the foundation for precisely handling humanities information, and that the goal is to create an environment where researchers can focus on their research without technological barriers. Kwak Moon-seok, director of Anyang University's HK+ Project Group, stated that AI-based digital humanities will significantly expand the accessibility and usability of humanities research.

The two parties plan to establish a working-level consultative body in the future to flesh out the agreement's content and continue to promote AX innovation in the digital humanities through joint projects.
