Nota (CEO Chae Myung-soo), an AI lightweight and optimization technology company, announced on the 5th that it has applied an AI-based automatic emergency situation detection system to the "Gyeonggi Province Autonomous Cooperative Driving Traffic Information Service" operated by the Gyeonggi Province Future Mobility Center. This system provides real-time emergency situation information to users of private navigation services such as Kakao Navi, Naver Map, and T Map.
The service has been provided to drivers driving in the Pangyo autonomous vehicle pilot operation zone since December of last year, and its core function is to provide advance guidance on road hazards and signal information before entering an intersection.
Nota's system automatically detects "guardian emergencies" such as pedestrians or jaywalkers, as well as "vehicle emergencies" such as stopped vehicles or vehicles driving in the wrong direction, at 14 intersections in Pangyo. Drivers can monitor these emergencies in real time through their navigation systems, which is expected to contribute to accident prevention and improved intersection safety.
Nota utilizes on-device AI technology, which runs AI models within the CCTV itself, to analyze emergencies in real time. Selected information is transmitted to the Gyeonggi Province Autonomous Driving Center via V2X (Vehicle to Everything) communication and then provided to drivers through private navigation systems. Unlike existing methods of citizen reporting or manual confirmation by control personnel, the entire process, from situation detection to information delivery, is automated, improving response speed and operational efficiency.
Nota has achieved top-tier performance in both real-time performance and accuracy in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field, demonstrating its high emergency situation detection accuracy in domestic and international ITS enhancement projects and technology verification projects. Furthermore, the company is expanding its reach into the global market by applying its technology to projects overseas, including Dubai, Lakewood, USA, and Nairobi, Kenya.
Nota CEO Chae Myeong-su said, “This introduction is significant in that it is a case where AI optimization technology is directly applied to citizens’ daily lives,” and added, “Based on our experience in commercializing ITS at home and abroad, we will expand the scope of technology application to ensure road safety and accelerate business performance.”
